Subject: Sooooo.... How Robust Is The KFlop?
I've spent years battling with Mach3 (both with, and without a SmoothStepper). Most days, it works just fine. But then, there are the other days, when it seems to have a mind of its own. As I am now spending all my days in the shop trying to get a business started, the cost in scrapped work, broken tools, and just lost time and frustration is really getting to me, and I'm looking for a better solution. I looked at EMC, but I do want something I can customize to better suit my machine and work-flow. Being able to modify the UI in KFlop is a HUGE attraction to me, ASSUMING the KFlop and associated software is very robust.

So, how's it been for all you folks?

Regards,
Ray L.

I'm surprised someone hasn't spoken up yet
I have bought/installed 10 kflops in the last 3[4?] years
and 4 snap amps,
machines have been a mixture of stepper,ac servo,dc servo.
His card and software have been rock solid!
any issues I have had were self inflicted. Tom even [patiently]
helps to solve those too.

I say go for it, setup is a bit different from Mach, but if I can do it anyone can!

Carl

Carl,

Thanks for the input! I was also surprised there wasn't more response! KFlop is looking very tempting, after spending the last two days chasing bugs in Mach3, and not getting any work done....

Regards,
Ray L.

I would echo Carl's views.
I have converted both a large mill (Extron) and large lathe (Hankook Protec 5N) and they are both excellent, and solid, thanks to Tom's patient input.
